
Arielle Hosein, 2008 Miss Orlando Carnival Cultural
Pageant winner
On 12th April 2008, 17-year
old Ms. Arielle Hosein was crowned Miss Orlando Carnival Cultural
Pageant before an audience of some 300 attendees at the Florida
Mall Hotel. From a field of 9 contestants, Ms. Hosein captured
the coveted title with Ms. Tiffany Irizarry being awarded
the position of first runner up. Ms. Leshaun Crayton and Ms.
Jashanah Griffith took the second and third runners up positions,
respectively, while Ms. Charelle Bellenger was awarded the
fourth runner up position.
The annual Miss Orlando Carnival Cultural Pageant was initiated
by the Orlando Carnival Association, Inc. in 2007 and its
goal is to provide a program that empowers and encourages
young ladies to succeed in today’s society. The Pageant
places emphasis on intelligence and talent; assists contestants
in accomplishing personal goals; enhances self-confidence,
as well as showcases the rich culture and heritage of the
Caribbean.
